Your Career Pathways
The aim of this programme is to give learners the knowledge and skills that facilitate professional knowledge and practice in supporting a client in a community or residential setting, developing, implementing and evaluating diversional therapy activities for a range of clients. Graduates will be able to work in roles such as –
- Diversional Therapist
- Recreational Therapist
- Activities Officer
- Aged or Disabled Care Worker
- Special Care Worker
*95% of graduates from this program successfully acquired jobs in relevant fields within just one year after completing their studies.
Entry Requirements
Domestic Students:
- At least 18 years of age at programme start date.
- 48 NCEA credits at Level 2 ( including a minimum of 12 credits in each of the three subjects and 4 credits in English and 4 credits in writing).
- There are no minimum academic requirements for applicants 20 years of age and over.
International Students
- At least 18 years of age at programme start date.
- Year 12 or 13 qualification or equivalent (high school).
- Tertiary graduates and health care professionals who interact with patients are preferred.
- Must meet the English Proficiency Entry Requirements for Level 4 Programmes. You may be required to take supplemental English language courses despite meeting the requirements.
- Student Visa, Medical and Travel Insurance.
